So far we have been skiing, well I ski and Erik boards, here in Albuquerque. There is a nice ski resort with decent runs located just thirty minutes away. We have also skied in Santa Fe but prefer Sandia because it is closer and less crowded.
As for hiking, we love taking the dogs. Besides the occasional cactus needle in their paw, they love sniffing, running, and being off leash!
We usually find ourselves going off the beaten path and making our own path, being kind to nature of course!
