Well the big move has come and gone, many moons ago! Life has been crazy! Here is the low down:
-- We packed our Alabama house and we moved ourselves to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
-- We dropped the dogs off at their favorite place in Alabama, Dog Days, and we headed to Texas City for a wedding and then finished the drive to New Mexico. We unloaded our stuff in a storage unit, all of it, and I flew back to Alabama to be with the dogs and Erik stayed in Albuquerque to inprocess with his new squadron.
-- Erik flew back to Alabama and we packed our jeeps with the dogs and our 600 pounds worth of stuff for North Carolina.
-- Along the way, we stopped in Savannah, Georgia, for a few days of sightseeing and relaxing. Savannah, was awesome! We, the dogs included, thoroughly enjoyed our time. We walked everywhere, we ate tons of good food, we stayed at the East Bay Inn (allows dogs) and we would recommend it to anyone.
-- After our little side trip, Erik and I arrived in North Carolina on August 11th and moved into our beach house on North Topsail Beach.
I will post pictures later; however, we are loving life. Our house is huge (not showing off, we just aren't used to it), we live across the street from the beach, our back yard is the intercoastal waterway. Erik has started training, he has finished academics and is about to start in the simulators. I have a job as a teacher assistant at an elementary school in the area. We both have commutes which isn't fun but it allows us to catch up with friends and family or listen to books on tape.
Overall, we are enjoying North Carolina and looking forward to the next four months of living on the beach! Come visit!
