Chicago

Before Erik left for SERE, we were able to squeeze in a trip up north. Besides the whole getting to Chicago by air part, (nightmare but thankfully we got in and out) we had a blast.

We went to Chicago for Regan, Erik's sister, graduation from Northwestern. She graduated with her PhD in Biomedical Engineering. She will soon be moving to California to do research at Cal Tech. Basically, she will be working with eye balls.

While up north, we had beautiful weather and were able to go Lake Michigan. It was too cold to go in but it is amazing how blue it is!!

We also took to Chicago on wheels. We did a Segway Tour of the city. It was amazing!! We had all been to Chicago several times while Regan has been in the big city so we didn't really do it for the tour part but riding around on two wheels was cool. There where ten of us in the tour riding around all of downtown for two hours crossing streets, sharing space with cyclists and tourists, and if you were one of the Towal's we tried to see how fast the Segway could go!!

Now that's a wrap from our quick trip to Chicago. Wait did I mention the fabulous food we ate...oh yeah, it was so good. Indian, Frites with Garlic Mayonnaise, Onion Rings, Grilling out on the deck, Sangria, Beer, Chicago Style Hot Dogs, and more fried food.
