She's done it Again!!

First and foremost, for those who know Cindy Jeffers know that she is one of the greatest women on the planet and for my sisters and I she is the greatest mom in the world.

She's done it again, refers to how she is successful in her "setting up" ways. For a little background information, my mom along with Erik's mom and one of my best friends Shelby set Erik and I up. It was thanks to Shelby that my attention went to Erik for a potential Debutante Ball Escort and then thanks to my mom for calling and asking Erik's mom (because he was at the Academy Summer Seminar) to be my escort. Because of this phone call, Erik became my escort. Because he was my escort, we started dating. Because we started dating, we ended up getting married...partly because of my mom.

Now on to the latest, my parents read multiple newspapers everyday and while in Houston visiting my oldest sister and her family one of the papers for the day was the Houston Chronicle. While looking in the Wedding Section, one of her favorites, she noticed a newly married couple by the name of Landon and Lauren. What caught her attention and set them apart was that his middle name was Erik (spelled with a k), she was a graduate from Texas A&M University (my alumni), they were moving to Camp Lejeune, NC (where we were moving), and they have a dog by the name of Tank (our oldest dog's name). Normal people would say, "Wow! Look at all the similarities they have to my daughter and son-in-law." Well that wasn't the case for Cindy Jeffers, she proceeded to call all the people in the phone book with Lauren's last name to tell them about us. Seven calls later, Lauren's mom picks up. After a brief conversation and my mom swearing we are normal people, she gave Lauren's mom our blog address and our phone numbers so that we could meet. Low and behold, we are normal and Landon calls Erik to say that as crazy as it sounds they are up for meeting us.

So back in August, Erik and I went on our first blind date, our first blind couples date. We met Lauren and Landon and we had a great time at dinner and then that weekend we went to their house for their dinner party and they came to our house for our dinner party. Three days in a row and we are all still normal people and we get along....go Cindy Jeffers. But her success story doesn't end there, the Ludwicks and us became fast friends and spend every weekend together. Lauren and Landon are Texans and a great couple and we thoroughly enjoy our time with them and will continue to while we are here in North Carolina and beyond.

Overall, if you know someone who is single or needs a job or needs friends in their area, call my mom, the best mom, Cindy Jeffers. She has many successful stories and she is always looking to help people out. She will even hook people up because they share common interests and she feels those two individuals should meet.

  1. You told me this story on the phone and I still think it is just too cute! Your mom is awesome! I'm so happy you guys have found such great friends in NC. Friends make such a big difference! I still miss living next door to the one and only Julie Towal and your boys. :)
