March Adventures

Well another month has come and gone! Well just about gone, there are still a few days left in March and I have blogged only once. One Word...Moose! Having a puppy around the house is a full time job. I make my To-Do List each day and I am maybe able to scratch off half of the things on my list!

Anyways, this past month started with us getting a second chocolate lab. We named him Moose and man is he energetic! When we got Tank as a puppy back in June he was easy, laid back, and timid. Moose is quiet the opposite. He is now nine weeks old and we are going on our fourth week... and on a good note he is handling potty training like a pro! On the other hand, he is a porker and always wants to eat, he is up before 7 am everyday, and he loves to jump on everything. With this being said, he is a very sweet dog, loves his training sessions, and will grow up to be a great addition to our family. Now if only I can get him to sleep until eight! :)

This month, I have started volunteering at the Thrift Shop here on post three days a week. Two other student wives go in as well and it is a lot of fun and the Pot Luck lunches are delicious! While here, I either sort donations, price donations, work the floor, work behind the counter with checkouts, or eat the endless desserts in the break room. :)

Erik and I have also started getting out and enjoying the beautiful weather. Tank loves his runs behind our house where he can go off leash and run free. We are getting excited to go to the beach and the creek behind our house on a more regular basis and let Tank enjoy the water. He loves it! However, with Spring comes the Alabama bugs! The love bugs are out as well as the huge moths that fly in to our house anytime you open the door. All in all, they aren't so bad yet....but I dread the day the mosquitoes and flies come back!

As far as training goes, Erik is in his Remote Block. This is the block where they are flying 50 feet above the trees and landing in "Remote Sites" all over the area training for their future missions of having to gauge the area and find places to land. He is loving it (and its a LOT more involved than what I just described) and I am so proud of him! Although, he is always planning his routes, flying, studying, or sleeping, I cherish the few minutes we get with each other everyday....it's not much, but at least he is home and not deployed!

I'll leave you with a few pictures of the pups as they seem to be the only ones on our camera these days! :)
